Since 2011, the ACMG Foundation’s Day of Caring has coincided with the ACMG Annual Meeting and each year the Foundation works with local nonprofits, to provide specially-adapted bicycles to local children living with genetic conditions. The bicycles are generously provided by Revvity (formerly PerkinElmer) to make this heartwarming event possible. ACMG Foundation President, Dr. Nancy J. Mendelsohn, MD, FACMG stated that “the annual Day of Caring is the highlight of the ACMG Annual Clinical Genetics Meeting for the Foundation and our ACMG members. Each year at this time, we pause to celebrate the patient communities we serve and give a small token of appreciation to children with genetic conditions. It is a great privilege to partner with our donors and the families we serve.”

In 2024, the ACMG Foundation presented specially-adapted bicycles and helmets to Toronto-area children from the Sickle Cell Awareness Group of Ontario and Kerry's Place. Kerry’s Place is Canada's largest service provider to families with children, adolescents, and adults with autism spectrum disorder.
